Henderson followed up his two-goal heroics against Cheltenham with the equaliser against the Cobblers before Michael Rose and George Donnelly wrapped up the points.
That’s seven wins in eight League games for Keith Hill’s men, leapfrogging Chesterfield who have fallen from grace and are without a win in October thus far.
Chesterfield’s neighbours Burton are fast-improving under Gary Rowett and have enjoyed a successful October with three wins from four league games to date.
Striker Billy Kee set the tone for the month with a brace in the 2-1 win against Wycombe, so earning this praise from manager Rowett: “On his day, he is the best in the bottom two divisions.
"He is very, very difficult to mark. I wouldn't swap him for any other striker in this division and the division up for that matter,” said the Burton boss, who was also impressed with Adam McGurk’s double in the 2-0 win over rivals Chesterfield.
Hartlepool are the team of the moment and are making great strides having picked up maximum points in October so far, scoring 11 goals and conceding just one in the process.
Six of those goals were provided by Jack Compton and Luke James who took his season’s tally to six, putting him just one behind leading scorers Ryan Jarvis (York) and Rhys Murphy (Dagenham).
Jarvis has enjoyed a profitable October so far, scoring in a 3-0 win at former club Torquay and in this week’s 2-2 draw with Chesterfield, putting him on seven league goals for the season.
Tied on seven in the scoring stakes is Dagenham & Redbridge’s Murphy who was the match winner in Tuesday’s 1-0 win at Southend.
The Daggers are making steady progress after a laboured start to the season, with Murphy playing a key role having contributed three goals so far this month.
There are plenty of others in the running for the fans’ player award in League Two, but who will get your vote to succeed September winner Scott Hogan of Rochdale?
